Channel Tutoring founder Mia Edgworth has won the Homerton College Changemakers Catalyst Fund Award, an initiative from the University of Cambridge that supports student-led ventures creating positive social impact.
Mia, a second-year undergraduate at Cambridge studying Human, Social, and Political Sciences, founded Channel Tutoring to make high-quality academic support accessible and affordable for students across Guernsey, whatever their background. The award recognises the work Channel Tutoring is already doing — personalised one-to-one tutoring, online learning resources, revision workshops, super-curricular lectures, and careers guidance — to widen access to education on the island.
Alongside funding, the Changemakers programme has provided mentoring, networking opportunities, and the chance to pitch to investors and industry leaders. With the extra support, Channel Tutoring is expanding to offer personalised guidance on university applications and interviews, including help with Oxbridge applications, admissions tests, and personal statements.
